HISTORICAL ROOTS OF THE DSM HEADQUARTERS PROJECT
After over 40 years of ministry, Duane Sheriff Ministries is embarking on a renovation project that perfectly illustrates God’s timing and orchestration. We’re excited to share that DSM will soon have brand new headquarters on the Victory Life Church (VLC) campus in Durant, OK. Remarkably, it’s in a building that incorporates the very first structure ever placed on this property nearly four decades ago. Our ministry’s journey across this campus is a story of growth and God’s supernatural provision.
Over the years, DSM has utilized several buildings, including a double-wide trailer which was the first structure ever placed on the Durant campus. Each move has been purposeful, often stepping aside for the expanding needs of Victory Life Church and school (now Legacy Christian School), which Brother Duane founded in 1987.
Four years ago, when the church launched Project Big, DSM relocated from a ~7,000 sq.ft. facility to a ~2,000 sq.ft. house located on the campus. We were honored when the time came to give up our space so it could become part of the new Legacy Christian School campus.
The now completed school is actually bookended by two different buildings, which are also structures that DSM has occupied throughout our history. As you scan the campus, you can almost see a visual timeline of the ministry’s growth alongside the church and school.
FROM TEMPORARY TO ENDURING
The past four years in our temporary “office” have been both challenging and faith-building. During this season, our staff has actually doubled in size, creating an even greater need for adequate space. As always, God has been faithful, and our team has remained united and productive despite the limited conditions.
Our new headquarters will be nearly three times the size of our current space, allowing us to bring together our staff, volunteers, and product resources under one roof. This expansion will make room for future growth of the ministry and create a proper facility to welcome visitors, distribute products, and better serve our partners.
We are very excited that our entire team will be able to work together in the same space—a change that will significantly enhance our ability to serve and expand the ministry’s reach.
STUDIO SPACES
Throughout these transitions, two vital resources have remained constant: our recording studios. These spaces have been absolutely essential to DSM’s mission, as the recordings produced there are truly the lifeblood of our ministry. Without these studio capabilities, we simply wouldn’t be able to reach the multitudes of people who receive Brother Duane’s teachings around the world.
We cannot thank you, our partners, enough for making these projects possible. The new HQ will continue to utilize our current studio space.
GOD’S PERFECT TIMING
The progression of our facilities reflects the heart that has characterized this ministry from the very beginning. Thanks to our faithful partners, Brother Duane has been giving his messages away, free of charge, since 1983. The same spirit of generosity has extended to our facilities whenever VLC or the school has had a need. DSM has never hesitated to relocate in order to accommodate the needs of others. We know full well that everything belongs to the Lord and is meant to serve His will through all of these ministries. We’re simply stewarding the resources that God has entrusted to us throughout the seasons for this mission.
It’s remarkable to reflect on how God has orchestrated every move, every transition, and every sacrifice to bring us full circle back to where it all began. There’s something profoundly beautiful about returning to our roots while stepping into our future.
The building we’re renovating encompasses the original double-wide trailer where DSM began on the Durant campus nearly 40 years ago. What was once a simple beginning will soon be transformed into a professional, modern headquarters, serving the ministry for years to come. This full-circle moment reminds us that God’s timing is always perfect. Every season of displacement, every sacrifice made for the greater good of the Kingdom has led to this. We’re not just getting a new building, we’re receiving a testament to God’s faithfulness and a launching pad for the next chapter of ministry.
